Although the same components used and vertually the same specs, this unit comes with a plastic face plate and knobs (not metal like the 2700). I have had this unit connected for about a year now using a upconverting DVD player and a HD cable box. I have a 5.1 speaker system from Definitive Technology and have been very happy with the performance. BTW - if you purchase this unit, make sure it is running the latest firmware (you can download on the Yamaha web site) or you may have problems with audio cut outs as I did.
